Job Description:

First Baptist Church on Lexington Ave. is looking for a friendly and reliable Nursery Worker who will provide care for infants and toddlers under the supervision of the Family Minister. This person will be responsible for ensuring the children’s safety by supervising and providing them with a safe and nurturing environment. The nursery worker will tend to their basic needs including feeding bottles provided by parent/guardian, providing snacks for toddlers, changing diapers and assisting with bathroom breaks. They will maintain a fun environment, facilitate activities and assist church volunteers leading crafts/activities.

 

Requirements:
- Must have all childcare clearances

- Must have High School Diploma or GED

- Ability to manage a classroom of young children with patience and understanding
- Strong communication skills to interact with children, parents, and fellow staff members
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain one
- Punctuality

- Able to lift up to 20 pounds

- 2 years of childcare experience (preferred)

Primary hours are Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings with occasional additional hours for family events as needed.

Background check and previous experience with children required.
